Otis: Newborn Puppy Photos
It’s been about a month now with our little puppy Otis in our lives and it’s been a blast watching him grow into his own personality AND watching the girls take care of the little guy. So, when Kyra wasn’t feeling well a couple weeks ago I indulged in her requests to do a newborn inspired puppy shoot! Pretty darn silly but that’s what having a puppy is all about!
It’s easy to put off silly endeavors like this for the sake of productivity (and honestly I had put it off, Kyra had been asking me to do this with her since we got Otis). But there is something so wonderful about leaning into the silly and frivolous sometimes—it’s good for the heart and it was also turned into a really wonderful memory with my daughter. Getting to see her smile and fully engage with the photoshoot process was a treat that I hadn’t been expecting. Not only that, but how great is it to have these photos of our pup while he’s still this teeny tiny. It’s something I always tell parents they’ll appreciate having when their kids are grown up, but for all the pet parents out there—it’s really special to have this memory captured as well!
