Little River at the River

It’s always been part of our process to meet with couples and families before their session to learn more about them and figure out how to make their images reflect who they are. Talking with Cameron and David, it quickly became apparent that water and rivers play a huge part in their lives, so of course, it was only fitting that we photograph baby River by the Big Wood!

The first few months of a little one’s life can truly seem like a blur as a parent, which makes capturing these moments with a newborn extra special. It looks like we may have another future fly fisherman in the valley!

With all the snow that we still have on the ground, it may seem hard to believe that newborn sessions are still happening— every once in a while we’ll do some in the snow, but if you don’t want to brave the cold, we also do some wonderful newborn sessions right here in our studio. Or we can always come out to your home for a more personal touch.

In the studio we have lots of cozy blankets and cute baskets to make your shoot uniquely yours! We also encourage folks to bring items that may hold sentimental value for them— a hand-knit blanket from grandma, dad’s ski boot, a stuffy from when mom was a kid, or beloved four legged friends— to help make the session even more special.

If you and your baby want to stay in your PJs, the at home option might be for you! Whether cuddling on the couch together, time snoozing in their crib, or more posed shots— at home shoots often take the pressure off for new parents! No matter what your style, photos of those first few weeks and months of a little one’s life are something that you’ll cherish forever.
