Fun family portraits at home in Hailey

I love that my job offers me the opportunity to get to know people and their families in a deeper way. When people call us, it’s usually because they want to capture some intangible feeling that they love about their family, and it’s my job to figure out how to do that— to ask the right questions, to figure out a little bit of who they are and what they mean to each other, and then to capture just a few of those little interactions that can give others a glimpse into a moment in their lives.

I so enjoyed photographing Courtney and Thomas’s family outside their home in Hailey.  Two wonderful children and a pup named Goose kept my camera clicking  as we took some fun shots in the yard, on the trampoline and in their cool, vintage, Land Cruiser.  

Their daughter, Maude, was the motivator behind this year’s family photo session (with Goose included, of course!).  Maude was excited about sharing their photos with their friends and family in a holiday card because of how much she fun she has receiving them and looking at the photos each year.  Hearing her say that was a sweet reminder that in a digital world, holding a photo of family or friends in your hands just brings so much joy and reminds us how lucky we are to have those folks in our lives.
