Family Ski Day with Des and Kelly
One of the best things about living in the Valley are all of the incredible things we get to show to our kids! And as a photographer, I feel lucky to get to capture these special moments. Des and Kelly first met on the slopes during their first date, Kelly was in Sun Valley visiting for a ski race. But at the end of his trip, his friends went back home and Kelly decided to stay. Some years later, Des and Kelly are happily married with two little ski shredders in tow!
Given Des and Kelly’s ski backgrounds - it’s a natural fit for their kids to be swooping down the slopes at such a young age! I love doing photoshoots of the “behind the scenes” with families (you can check out more about my Real Life Portraits here), and this one was such a fun twist on that concept! We started the day in the parking lot with Des and Kelly getting the kids ready and loading up the wagon to roll over to Dollar.
After that, we enjoyed lap after lap of the kids giggling, swooshing, and loving the slopes! After the kids had their fill of fun, we headed back to the truck for some tailgate snacks to wrap up the day! Kelly and Des absolutely love skiing, so passing this passion to their kids has been super important for them - and Dollar is the perfect place to teach them young!
Thanks to Des and Kelly for a wonderful day on the mountain, can’t wait to get back out there with you all again!
