Dreaming of Summer Weddings Again!
We passed the first week of spring a few weeks ago but it just doesn’t feel like spring yet! But still, It's got us thinking about greenery, that fresh smell that wafts through town when all of the trees and flowers begin to bloom, and - as a photographer - the fact that wedding season is right around the corner! All this snow is not going to stop us from dreaming of beautiful summer weddings. From details to ceremony and party time to quiet moments - there are so many wonderful frames to capture. Below are just a few of my favorites from past summertime weddings!
It’s all in the Details
Wedding details add so much personality to any celebration! Invitations, flowers, jewelry, cakes, gifts, venue, dresses, ties, the list goes on and on. That’s part of the fun though right? Details help your big day feel genuinely like you! Summer details tend to feel inherently bright and colorful which makes shooting photos extra fun. Elaborate flower displays with endless textures might be my favorite!
Quiet Moments Sometimes Speak the Loudest
I think for most folks their wedding day rushes by in such a blur of joy that they don’t always have time to cherish the small moments that occur throughout the experience. Capturing these quick snapshots of emotion are the best (and always a fun challenge!). The tenderness of a first dance, tears from loved ones, a quick moment alone with your new spouse, that bear hug from your sibling you’ll never forget - no matter the season these moments are special.
Kids Liven Up the Party
Kids never fail to make us all laugh and smile at weddings. Whether it’s a surprise meltdown, funny faces at the altar, a sweet moment with a grandparent, photobombing bridal party photos, sticking a ring up their nose, dumping the flowers all in one spot…the list of silly moments I’ve seen over the years brings a grin to my face. Of course, not all weddings are great fits for kids - but when they are you are bound to get some real gems of photos!
And Finally - the Celebration!
Oh man, how I love big parties where everyone gets to clink glasses, tear up the dance floor, give hugs, and sit shoulder to shoulder at a beautiful ceremony. Summertime is the time for enjoying the sunshine and beautiful weather that Sun Valley has to offer. There are so many gorgeous locations all over the Valley it’s hard to pick a favorite!
