We love a first look!

Wedding days are full of big and small moments, all of which are amplified by the significance of the occasion. It’s always a day full of laughter and tears. That wonderful range of emotions is part of what makes it such a pleasure to capture. But one of my very favorite moments is when a couple does a first look, sees each other for the first time and gets to spend just a little bit of time alone before the craziness of the day begins.

During the wedding planning process, if a couple wants to do a first look, then we will work with them and their planner to create a first look that will give them a great experience (as we’ve done this many, many times).

Here’s a few things to consider:

It’s nice to have a location that is private because it’s always easier to relax when you don’t have an audience!

Pick a location that has nice light and also some shade— always nice not to have to squint to look at each other!

When you see each other for the first time, take your time, relax and just be with each other, try not to worry about having your picture taken— the best images come when you are just being yourselves together anyway!
