Eking out the Last Bit of Summer

Anyone else excited that fall is here? This is one of my absolute favorite times of year— fall colors are starting up north, but we still get warm, sunny, and beautiful afternoons. I get to wear my favorite fall coats in the AM, but switch to a summer dress for dinner time. And even though it’s suddenly starting to feel more like fall, we’re still trying to snap up all of the last bits of summer before it’s gone.

This transition period is a great time to collectively catch our breath. With the kids back in school, it’s been an opportunity for me to create a little more balance, a little more boundaries between work time and family time— and I feel as though both aspects of my life benefit from it!

Although this was a super busy work summer, we still managed to fit in some fun! We went on little family trips to Seattle and New Mexico, have spent some time in Boise, went to the Sun Valley Ballet, have been learning to play golf and doing just a little bit of hiking (not always the kids’ favorite activity but it’s fun when we finally get out there), and the kids have been loving driving around in Gurmeet’s new jeep. With shorter days just around the bend and the smoke finally clearing out, it feels more important than ever to prioritize these final days of summer while we can!
