Capturing Your Real Life!

People always say to me —“you wouldn’t believe what happened at our house the other day! I wish you could have been there!”

The good news? I can be! Real Life Portrait Sessions are meant to help you capture these fleeting and special moments. It will just be you "hanging out" with your family, being you. We can do a lazy morning at home, go on a bike ride, or build a snowman - you get the idea - whatever you normally do as a family. The most important piece is that it’s about doing things that are unique to you or really feel like your family!

These sessions are unscripted & un-posed. Wear whatever you want, you don’t need to clean your house or get prepared. After a little while, you won’t even notice the camera!

Not sure where to start? Below are three of my favorite “hanging out” activities for Real Life Portrait Sessions!

Make a Meal Together

Making a meal or snack together is a great way to get the family moving together and getting hands on with an activity. Choosing one that the kids can be a part of is a great option - adding toppings to pizzas, washing veggies, or just hanging out in the kitchen all together. Looking for family friendly recipes? Jamie Truppi of Jamie Truppi Integrative Nutrition has some great options!

Highlight Your Home

The Real Life Portrait Sessions are a great opportunity to highlight the things that make your home so fun! Have you been working on your gardening efforts? Or maybe you have a spot where you practice a favorite hobby? A creek that the kids love playing in? The options for highlighting your favorite spots are endless!

Make Time for Play

A tried and true trick for getting kids to forget their is a camera present? Engage them with a favorite activity! If your child loves to paint, prep some painting materials for them to use. If your kiddo can’t get enough of their new Lego set, make sure it’s ready for them to work on. Or, if they always manage to spend hours on the trampoline - well, jumping photos are always a good time! We can also change the location for the activity - skate parks, xc trails, the choice is yours!
