Wes and Kristina celebrate in Sun Valley
It seems like Wes and Kristina’s wedding— which was on March 7th— was a million years ago, because that was just before everything in our world changed with the corona virus pandemic. Their wedding will always be a little placeholder in my mind, a reminder of when things were just a little bit simpler— before face masks, constant hand washing and social distancing, when people didn’t have to second guess who’s hand they were shaking, and who they were hugging, but were just celebrating a wonderful couple, on a wonderful weekend in the mountains.
Wes and Kristina have the craziest story of having lived parallel lives but never having met until a dating app brought them together, “After both having been born in Bellevue at the same hospital, and both living in New York City and Colorado, and both having moved back to Seattle the last few years, we finally actually met through match.com where we learned how much our paths had crossed our whole lives.”
It’s always fun to hear people’s proposal stories— Kristina is a total romantic, someone who wanted her wedding to be classic and beautiful, and clearly, Wes knew what he was doing when he proposed to her!
“Wes knocked it out of the park on this one! He managed to surprise me, get me to Sun Valley and up to the Roundhouse despite all my unknowing efforts to sabotage his plan the whole way. He knew that a proposal at the Roundhouse was a vision of mine and he couldn't have done a better job in making it happen. The staff set up a beautiful table for two out on the deck with long stem red roses and a bottle of champagne on ice. We were outside overlooking the gorgeous mountain surroundings when he got down on one knee! Immediately afterwards our family and friends joined us to celebrate the occasion. It was truly a magical moment that continued on throughout the weekend in beautiful Sun Valley!”
Starting with Apres ski on the deck at River Run, a rehearsal dinner at The Kneadery, a ceremony at the Sun Valley Clubhouse, and ending with a big party at River Run on Saturday night, Kristina and Wes and their guests will always have a weekend full of fun, sweet memories, and I was so lucky to be a part of it!
As always, it takes such an amazing group of local vendors to help put such a special event together!
