Abbey + Matt in Senate Meadows at Galena
Abbey and Matt describe their dynamic as a couple as ‘unabashedly affectionate,’ and when you look at their wedding photos, you see that right away. Both of their smiles were radiant, their joy palpable.
They met at work at a video editing company in New York City and were inseparable from that moment on. They went to the movies, saw live music, laughed their butts off, and had honest conversations into the wee hours of the night.
The couple’s proposal story is so low key, and yet so sweet. “It was a freezing cold Saturday morning in New York. One of those beautiful winter days where the sun is shining but you can see your breath in the air. It was the morning after Abbey had a performance with her band (she is a singer-songwriter) and they set out through the village to get some much needed bagels with lox (a staple!) and coffee. With bellies full, Matt led Abbey into Washington Square Park where he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.”
Matt grew up in Boise, coming to Sun Valley to ski every winter. The Wood River Valley was a home away from home for him and became that way for Abbey as well (she also loves to ski!). Galena Lodge was a natural choice when they decided to get married, a place where they could have an elegant event in a relaxed setting, but also where they could have a blast singing, dancing and partying late into the night!
Their wedding was a joy to be a part of, the kind of celebration that just reinforces how much I love what I do! Thanks to the great team of vendors that helped make this wedding so wonderful!
